The Pacific Provident Funds and Social Security Forum has since its inception focused on the pension and benefit schemes to alleviate poverty in retirement. During the course of the last 2 years the membership has continued to grow, and regional events have brought together a number of different investment funds looking for support to strengthen their organisations.
An initial meeting of these funds was held during the International Sovereign Wealth Funds Forum in Auckland, New Zealand in late 2016. The outcome of that meeting was the desire to form a single Forum that included Social Security Funds, Superannuation Funds, Provident Funds, Trust Funds, and Sovereign Funds.
In conjunction with the i3 Investment Portfolio Masterclass being held in Auckland, New Zealand between 27 Feb – 1 Mar 2017, the CEOs of the PPFSSF will meet with the Trust and Sovereign Funds to determine if the objectives of the different funds can be aligned. The meeting will also include supporting organisations the World Bank, and the United States Policy Division.
